Makina de rabisko
Makina de Rabisko aka Soneka, born in Ceilândia and coming from the hip hop movement, Soneka, or Flávio Mendes, has had a career spanning more than 20 years. He participated in several meetings of graffiti artists and projects to revitalize public spaces in Brazil and abroad. His beginnings were as a member of the DF Zulu Breakers in 2002, and since then, the self-taught artist has expanded his skills into painting, sculpture and digital design. Currently, Soneka explores unique techniques, drawing with both hands, taking advantage of both sides of her brain to create.
The works, which carry surrealist and visionary references, challenge the public to co-create and imagine new experiences in scenarios where inequalities are overcome by the collective. Each creation is a passage to a place where energy flows freely, transforming what we know and expanding what we can be.
The birth of her son Zion was a milestone in Soneka's career, opening a new creative portal in her work. This phase connects the artist to a greater force, where the values of gratitude, forgiveness and harmony shape the future he wants to leave for his son and the next generations. With a conscious expressiveness, his works now reflect the overcoming of contemporary catastrophes through collectivity and utopian visions.
